The Process Improvement Specialist plays an integral role in optimizing and streamlining the operational workflows and quality systems within an organization. By meticulously analyzing existing processes, this professional identifies areas for improvement, ensuring that operations are both efficient and effective. Through collaboration with various departments, the Process Improvement Specialist ensures that enhancements are aligned with organizational goals, ultimately leading to increased productivity, operational, and quality excellence.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
- Two to three years of job-related experience: or an equivalent combination of education and experience; automotive experience preferred
- Excellent communicator both verbally and orally
- Demonstrates a high degree of initiative with excellent project management skills.
- Proficient in using software and tools to monitor and analyze production data
- Comfortable with Process Improvement tools including: SOPs, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, MCT Maps, Flow Charts, Swim Lane Diagrams, Gantt Charts, etc.
What You’ll Do
Support overall operations by:
- Developing and maintaining detailed process documentation, including process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
- Training employees on new processes and systems, providing support and guidance to ensure smooth adoption and compliance.
- Analyzing existing processes to identify inefficiencies, redundancies and opportunities for automation.
- Resolving production issues by identifying production bottlenecks and finding more efficient solutions.
- Providing consistent communication internally within the team, stakeholders and Leadership as necessary through sponsor updates and breakdown escalations.
- Having the ability to influence without authority; keep teams working well together.
- Having the ability to operate in a complex, non-structured environment.
- Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency
- In coordination with leadership identify and implement opportunities, methods, and tools to improve efficiency and productivity in Operations.
Support project division by:
- Developing & sustaining tools, systems, and processes to maintain detailed timelines, project documentation, key milestones, and risk/mitigation plans, and quality targets.
- Developing & sustaining tools, systems, and processes to Lead project kick-offs, facilitate progress meetings, and conduct project close-outs.
- Developing & sustaining tools, systems, and processes to assist in the coordination of operations and activities within or between departments.
- Developing & sustaining tools, systems, and processes to support work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
- Developing & sustaining tools, systems, and processes to support the scheduling material deliveries for projects.
- Supporting all cross functional team members to ensure they remain engaged and aligned on the technical plans and deliver functional key deliverables on time.
- Reviewing Key Performance Indicators (Daily, Weekly, and Monthly) to ensure the facility is on track to meet overall departmental objectives and maintain productivity goals.
